3 Tips for Overcoming Challenges Abroad

Nov 28, 2017

Studying abroad can be one of the most exciting experiences of your life! It is important to remember  that though there may be challenges along the way, with the right strategies and mindset, you can overcome them. Explore these 3 tips for defeating any obstacles that might come your way!

1. Set Goals
Make a list of objectives that you hope to accomplish. Your goals can range from the preparatory paperwork you need to get done, to the subjects you want to study! Writing down your goals and crossing off what you have accomplished can help keep you on your path to success.

2. Stay Motivated
Read and listen to other test taker stories of success. Explore blog posts and forums, YouTube® channels, and social platforms where people share their experiences of going abroad to help you stay motivated and feel inspired. You can read an interview of a former TOEFL® test taker Diksha, who is now pursuing her Master’s degree in the United States, here.

3. Get Connected
Join an online community of students who are starting on their own study abroad journey! Ask questions, share stories, and encourage each other. Great places to do this include WhatsApp, Goodwall, and our Facebook and Instagram pages.
